OUR PROGRAM

Over the past 30 years, this course has grown with the evolution of general internal medicine. From changes in the practice of primary care to advances in medicine and surgery, Primary Care Internal Medicine: Principles & Practice has remained at the forefront.

Our faculty has been carefully selected from those clinician/educators at Harvard Medical School who can most effectively present content useful in daily clinical practice. Our comprehensive syllabus will become a year-round reference.

  • To address clinical issues faced daily in office practice.
  • To provide updates from subspecialties relevant to office practice.
  • To engage participants in problem solving case-based workshops.
  • To introduce a framework for assessing the value of new medical information.
  • To offer alternative strategies for patient interaction and shared decision-making.
  • To provide practical assistance for practice innovation

  • Patient management sessions offer extended consideration of common clinical topics, including essential physiology and decision-making.
  • Breakfast sessions provide time for participants to share experiences with fellow clinicians and faculty to answer questions.

HEAR EXPERTS DISCUSS THE PATIENT CENTERED MEDICAL HOME

  • This session will have three brief segments and an extended open discussion. Segment one will present the PCMH models. Segment two will present the current reimbursement options. Segment three will present the politics of the PCMH, professional, academic, institutional, and insurance industry.

  • This course provides a framework for recertification preparation.
